PlayStation rewards could be making a comeback. A new credit system has appeared on the PS Store, giving some players credit when they buy certain PS5 games.

Microsoft already has its Xbox Rewards system, while Sony previously offered something similar with PlayStation Stars. That program allowed players to earn points and exchange them for rewards.

However, PlayStation Stars never became very popular. The service was stopped several times before Sony finally shut it down in 2025. Now, it looks like the company may be preparing a new way to reward PlayStation users.

PlayStation Rewards May Be Returning as New PS Store Credit System Leaks

A “wallet credit” system has appeared on the UK PS Store after the option showed up under a game that was on sale (via PlayStation LifeStyle).

When a user on Reddit was about to buy The Blood of Dawnwalker, they received an unusual message: they would get $10 in credit for the purchase. The user confirmed that, after buying the game, the money was indeed added to their PS Store account.

And they were not the only one. Another player in the UK shared that buying PS5 games gave this reward, including titles such as Star Wars: Zero Company, Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy and Halloween: The Game.

The new system seems to focus more on special offers than traditional rewards. Players could receive credits when buying certain games on the PlayStation Store.

Sony’s new system also appears to be simpler than PlayStation Stars. Users would not need to complete activities or challenges to earn rewards. Instead, they could receive credits from purchases, which would then be added to their PSN accounts.
