Pokémon Go Zorua Community Day

Zorua is making an appearance during Pokémon Go's October Community Day, which means that we're going to see a truly bizarre screen when we open the game... We're not talking about seeing your buddy everywhere, we're talking about a Halloween-themed Community Day!

Shockingly, this is the first October Community Day since 2022 to feature a Dark/Ghost-type Pokémon. Was this the perfect opportunity to release the Ghost-type Hisuian Zorua? Absolutely. Is that why we're getting the regular Zorua instead? Undoubtedly...

It'll bring increased odds of picking up a shiny Zorua and a Zorua with 100% perfect IV stats, as well as the chance to get an Zoroark with the Fast Attack Sucker Punch.

There's also a string of Community Day event bonuses to enjoy as well, so make the most of Zorua's Community Day!

Time: 2pm to 5pm (local time), Saturday 10th October 2026

How to get shiny Zorua

Shiny Zorua will be appearing with increased odds during this Community Day event, making it the perfect time to hunt for a new shiny!

Every Community Day sees the shiny odds for its chosen Pokémon increased. You can increase your chances further by using an Incense to boost the number of Zorua spawns you encounter. As such, you shouldn't have much trouble tracking down a shiny Zorua. Simply keep clicking on Zorua until you see a shiny one! Just remember to keep an eye out for the sparkle effect and shiny icon next to its name to avoid missing out.

Shiny Zorua was released in October 2023 as part of the annual Halloween event. As you can see above, shiny Zorua is awesome. The bright blue really pops against the brown fur, offering a really striking contrast. This is a shiny we're always happy to see!

Shiny Zoroark takes a different approach, but still looks decent. It keeps the same grey body, but swaps its reds and blues for browns and purples. It's a pretty effective shiny, if slightly less cool than its unevolved form.

How to get Zorua with perfect IV CP

October's Community Day is the perfect time to find a Zorua with perfect IV stats. (Referred to as a 'Hundo' by the Pokémon Go community.) These are 15/15/15 stats you're looking for to create a maxed out, 100% IV Pokémon, for your 4* Pokédex, raids and Master League.

If you're at least Level 30 (or above), you'll ideally be looking for the following CPs for a perfect 15/15/15 Zorua:

  • Level 30 (wild CP maximum) - 1007 CP
  • Level 35 (weather-boosted wild CP maximum) - 1091 CP

The wild CP value aligns with your Trainer Level until you reach Level 30 and, due to the majority of the player base now being above this level, we've kept to these values for the sake of simplicity. These values will, however, be different if you're currently below Level 30.

The ever first Minior Shower is occuring this week! Want to know what's happening this month? Then take a look at the October schedule if you're already looking ahead. Don't forget to keep an eye out for both the rarest Pokémon and the best Pokémon in your travels.

Zorua's Community Day move

October's Community Day brings a new and exclusive move for Zorua's evolution, Zoroark.

If you evolve a Zorua into Zoroark during the event or up to four hours afterwards (9pm local time) your resulting Zoroark will learn Sucker Punch - a Dark-type Fast Attack. It's a solid move, but far from best-in class. Since Zoroark already has Snarl, the chances of you wanting to run Sucker Punch are relatively slim.

Sucker Punch (Dark-type Charged Attack)

  • Trainer Battles - 8 Power for 7 Energy
  • Gym and Raids - 5 Power for 6 Energy

By contrast, Snarl generates almost twice as much energy per use in Trainer battles (13 vs 7) and more than twice in Raids (13 vs 6).

If you decide you want this move, we recommend waiting until the end of the Community Day before obtaining this exclusive move to ensure you can evolve the Pokémon with the best IVs.

Best Zoroark moveset recommendation in Pokémon Go

Zoroark's best moveset is whatever you catch it with. This is not a good Pokémon and you don't want to waste TMs on it. Its optimal moveset, for sake of argument, is Snarl as a Fast Move and Foul Play as Charged Move.

Sadly, Zoroark is pretty terrible in PVP (its Attack stat is more than twice its Defense) and not worth running in Raids. Its comparable to Shadow Shiftry or a Guzzlord without any Dragon-type attacks, which isn't very exciting.

Here's Zoroark's full moveset in Pokémon Go:

Fast Moves

  • Shadow Claw (Ghost)
  • Snarl (Dark)
  • Sucker Punch (Legacy, Dark)

Charged Moves

  • Flamethrower (Fire)
  • Foul Play (Dark)
  • Night Shade (Ghost)
  • Sludge Bomb (Poison)
