Resident Evil 2 Remake Surpasses 20 Million Players

Capcom has announced that the remake of Resident Evil 2 has reached over 20 million players, coinciding with today’s Switch 2 announcement. 

This feat does not consider sales alone, since the title has been made available on Game Pass.

This remake follows protagonists Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield as they attempt to rid Raccoon City of a zombie-infested outbreak that has injured and killed numerous civilians.

Leon and Claire both have their own playable campaigns, boasting different paths, perspectives, gameplay sequences, and more. The complete Resident Evil 2 experience involves playing through Leon’s and Claire’s stories to uncover deeper truths.

Resident Evil 2 is currently available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Apple devices, and PC.

Resident Evil 2 Deluxe Edition, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition will launch for Nintendo Switch 2 on October 16, 2026.
