The current Rocket League season, Season 24, is expected to end around December 9, 2026, but Psyonix has not confirmed the Competitive season’s closing date or time. December 9 is the confirmed end of the season-long Run It Up event, so it is a useful planning date rather than an announced ranked deadline.
Season 24 began on September 23, 2026, at 9 a.m. Pacific. If you are trying to finish your ranked rewards in Rocket League, check the current season countdown before committing to a last-day push: a seasonal event, Rocket Pass, and Competitive matchmaking do not necessarily close at the same hour.
What is the current Rocket League season end date?
The schedule separates dates Psyonix has published from the expected transition to Season 25.
Last checked October 28, 2026.
The distinction matters because some countdown sites assign December 9 a precise hour using the usual launch pattern. That does not turn the estimate into a confirmed deadline. Season 24’s announcement gives a launch time and an event calendar; it does not give a final hour for earning Competitive rewards.
Where do you check the season countdown?
Look for the current season timer in the game, then check the activity you are finishing. Rocket Pass progress, seasonal challenges, and Competitive reward progress answer different questions.
- Competitive rewards: Check the Season Reward Level bar beneath the Ranked playlist selection. Your displayed rank alone does not show whether you have completed the required wins.
- Seasonal challenges: Read the expiry attached to the challenge or event. A limited-time event may finish well before the season does.
- Rocket Pass: Check its remaining time and your progress toward the rewards you want. Do not substitute a timer from an old season guide.
An update becoming available also does not mean the new season is live immediately. Download time, maintenance, and the season launch are separate milestones. Once Psyonix announces the next transition, use its stated time zone when converting the deadline for your location.
What should you finish before the Rocket League season resets?
Prioritize the wins needed to secure your intended Season Reward Level. Each tier requires 10 Competitive wins at that rank or above, after completing the earlier reward tiers. For example, reaching Diamond does not immediately award Diamond season rewards if your reward bar still shows an unfinished lower tier.
Finish the seasonal challenges you care about and check for earned rewards you still need to collect. Give yourself room for a losing streak, a connection issue, or scheduled maintenance. The final hour is a poor time to discover that your reward bar still needs several wins.
Keep your familiar Rocket League settings during that last push. Changing sensitivity, camera distance, and deadzone together makes it harder to judge whether mistakes come from the match or the new controls.
Season 24 also introduced exclusive titles for players who finish in the top 100 of the 1v1, 2v2, or 3v3 Soccar leaderboards. Those placement-based titles are a separate goal from the ordinary Season Reward Level progress bar.
Does a season reset remove your items or rank?
Owned cosmetic items and unspent Credits are not erased when a season changes. Your Competitive season and placement progress move into the next cycle, while the account keeps its inventory.
Expect to complete placements again for the new season rather than treating your last visible rank as permanently fixed. A new season does not mean that every experienced player is suddenly equivalent to an account that has never played Competitive.
Eligible season rewards begin arriving when the next season starts and may take one to two days to appear. Their delivery time is different from the deadline for earning them.
How long does a Rocket League season last?
Modern Rocket League seasons generally last about three months. That is a pattern, not a fixed calendar rule: extensions and changes to the schedule can move a season outside it.
The older Competitive seasons were less consistent. Legacy Season 3 lasted about nine months, while legacy Season 14 ran for roughly six. Rocket League then restarted its season numbering with the free-to-play launch in September 2020, which is why references to Season 1 can describe two different periods.
When did every free-to-play Rocket League season start and end?
The modern calendar begins with the free-to-play launch. Dates here describe the season transition, rather than a guaranteed shutdown hour for every playlist.
Season 2 was extended to April 7, 2021. Season 14 began on March 6, 2024, and Season 18 began on March 14, 2025; calendars that still use earlier planned dates leave misleading gaps or list the wrong season as current.
What were the original Rocket League Competitive season dates?
These 14 legacy seasons came before the free-to-play numbering reset. Their season numbers should be read together with their years.
When will the next Rocket League season begin?
Season 25 is the next season after the current Season 24. December 9, 2026, is the expected transition date because the season-long Run It Up event ends then, but the next season’s announcement is still needed to establish its launch schedule.
Until that announcement arrives, plan around completing your rewards early. An estimated date can help organize your remaining matches; it cannot tell you the exact final moment a result will count.
